This is the down side of living in a lush forest with wildlife all around. This is not our house, but it is in the neighborhood. It could have happened to any of us and that is what is so unnerving every time the wind and rain combination come into play. The winds were clocked as 47 miles per hour gusts at times. We were without power for a few days. It seems a given in any storm here. Power lines don't do well with trees across them. The up side is we finally got some rain and I caught up on some reading. It is not over yet. The weather report says we can count on one more soak. That is not good with the saturation of the soil at this point. The small root ball that holds up these monsters, as you can see, will uproot and send pine trees over like dominos. Let's pray the next photo here is not our house.
